Council Tax (Even For Students!!)
You should have filled in a form for council tax at the office when you collected your keys. If you did not please fill one in when you return your reports form. It is the tenant’s responsibility to contact the council and let them know that they are the occupiers for the entire duration of the contract.
EVEN IF YOU ARE STUDENTS YOU HAVE TO CONTACT THE COUNCIL SO THAT THEY KNOW THAT THE PROPERTY IS EXEMPT.
Don’t forget to contact them again in April, as that is when the new council tax year begins. If you fail to contact them and we receive correspondence or charges relating to your property, these charges will be passed on to you, as well as any additional administrative costs.
